Cameron Highlands Day 2 - Sunrise Tour, The Lord's Cafe, Tanah Rata

Beautiful Sunrise

We signed for the sunrise spectacular with Titiwangsa Tours and had to pull ourselves out of bed at 5am! I didn't sleep very well that night for some reason and ended up watching movies on my phone. Thank God for technology, else I would have been bored to death.

The mini bus came to pick up us a little late and up we went to the almost highest point of Cameron. I can never get enough of this. Being in the cold weather with a warm drink in your hands and watching the sun rising up in the horizon. It was a dream come true. I could wake up almost everyday for this. My next in line of want to do will be to stargaze in cold weather.

When the sun was fully out, we headed back to the hotel with some food provided from the tour. We were too busy taking photos instead of eating. Shortly after we're back to the hotel, we headed out to Tanah Rata in a cab. I was quite surprise that Tanah Rata had much straighter roads as compared to Brinchang winding ones. There are a lot of nicer hotels in Tanah Rata, or where my Taxi passed by.

Entrance to the Lord's Cafe

We headed to Tanah Rata to get our prepaid card for internet before we knew that there was a Starbucks there with free wi-fi. Oh well, the prepaid card it wasn't too expensive either. We found the Lord's cafe at a corner of the building right in front of the Taxi "stand" area. There was Marrybrown and an Indian food store along the same stretch.

All I know was that we kept eating and walking as there wasn't exactly much things to do. The Lord's Cafe has some pretty good scones, teas and cake. We just ordered everything strawberry there. There are a couple of cafes around Tanah Rata area. As soon as we covered the town of Tanah Rata, we headed back to Brinchang's night market during late noon and planned a feast of simply having street food for dinner that night. It was an awesome range of roast chicken, satay, sweet potato balls, seafood fried fritters, drinks and more! We were so stuffed that night.

My itinerary for this trip can be found at Cameron Highlands 3D2N Itinerary From Singapore.

Writes occasionally, enjoys quirky moments and loves to a cuppa coffee.
